post Spam on websites

I am so happy with my websites security that I now I have to look here and then for my comments awaiting moderation to get approved. Alas! I don’t have any in queue, should that make that happy, YES it should, but there is something. Well I am contended, I don’t have to combat spam anymore. Make sure you get the updates and use them well.

post One of those wierd days with OS

Recently, my boss got me this heavily configured laptop for heavy computational work. The processor happened to be the latest x64. I had a bit of trouble getting Microsoft Office installed, due to licensing issues as no one in our computing support have yet got a license for 64 bit OS. Well anyways I am still trying to do work around with that. Then I had to install a Bluetooth driver, which until to date I am unable to find any! There were some other troubles, but I am mostly using Ubuntu for filling in the gaps. And then one fine day I get one of this wierd errors when I am trying to install xps viewer from Microsoft.

In summary, the error msg says I don’t meet the requirements for .NET framework 3.0 but I have .NET 3.0 framework already installed !!! Go figure, what you want to do? Sometimes, I think the software professionals need some real revamping in their software engineering fundamentals.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not a Microsoft Windows hate personality, I love its ease of use and seamless intergration with most software I use. This is not so good with Linux machines, but they try to keep up the gap to the minimum. But these kind of errors really bug me, keep me in a statemate situation where I don’t know what to do. Even Ubuntu (Linux) after my recent update has started to give me this kind of trouble. I am able to validate my WEP passkey on my wireless router, able to obtain a valid IP address and the DHCP checks out. But I can’t even ping to my router, let alone connect to internet. I tried to go online find a diagnosis on this problem, but alas no luck yet.

These kind of problem occur every now and then, and it makes me feel, maybe (maybe) I should get into software engineering and understand why these simple errors go unseen by professionals when they actually make the software.

Until the day comes, I will wait for the right opportunity and I will survive these hiccups here and there by some way around.
